    I was looking for a nice looking TV stand, with plenty of storage for my DVDs, and this fit the bill. Most of the pieces in furniture stores were $700 and out of my price range. At just under $300, this one was about $100 more than the ones at Walmart/Target, but much nicer looking and larger. So for the money, I think this is a great piece. It is MDF, so not as sturdy as solid wood, and it scratches a little more easily. It had a couple of nicks when we took it out of the box, but nothing really noticable. It took my boyfriend several hours to put it together by himself. The only thing that was faulty, is that the magnet that is supposed to hold the doors shut, does not quite line up correctly on the left door, so the door doesn’t catch the magnet and it doesn’t stay shut all the way. But it’s only open about half an inch, so not noticable to most people. We have a 47in LED TV centered on top of it, and there’s still several inches of space on either side of the TV. It looks great, so overall I think it was a good purchase.

    First understand, for the price, this is not wood and I didn’t expect it to be. It is constructed of MDF, ParticleBoard and Vinyl wood grain covering. That said the stand went together with tight fitting joints and perfectly pre-drilled holes. However a couple of minor items, The box was full of sawdust ant the door handle screws had to be swapped out for countersunk. Lastly I built the stand upside down in the box. When I pulled it out and turned it over there were three “L” shaped scratches about 8 inches long. The reason for a 5-Star, instead of a lower, rating? When my wife called the company, they passed on the handle problem to the staff, apologized and promptly sent out a new lid. Secondly, this piece of furniture looks better than I thought possible for the price.
